Stress is a modern phenomenon affecting most of us in some way. A certain level of stress can make us more productive but if this level is increased and is continuous over a long period of time the body may suffer and health can be affected.
Stress can happen at any stage of life and has many triggers. These triggers vary depending upon personal experience & perception of life.
A simple questionnaire about Stress: Are you in control of stress or is stress controlling you? If you answer no to all these questions then perhaps you aren’t in control of your stress.
- When you feel agitated, do you know how to quickly calm and soothe yourself?
- Can you easily let go of your anger?
- Can you turn to others at work to help you calm down and feel better?
- When you come home at night, do you walk in the door feeling alert and relaxed?
- Are you seldom distracted or moody?
- Are you able to recognize upsets that others seem to be experiencing?
- Do you easily turn to friends or family members for a calming influence?
- When your energy is low, do you know how to boost it?
